Ultrasonographer - Echo Technician



Essential Functions of Position: Ultrasonographer - Echo Technician


• Receives patients, explains method of procedure and makes sure patient is comfortable
• Provides patient services to all ages using imaging modalities
• Operates ultrasound equipment to perform clinical diagnostic ultrasound exams and routine invasive procedures according to established standards and practices
• Maintains equipment and supplies and organizes work area
• Keeps accurate records, helps with scheduling of the ultrasound and keeps patient flow smooth
• Assists cardiologist with interventional procedures as ordered (ie., Echo Bubble Studies, Stress Echo scans, Transesophageal Echos, etc)


 


Performs all technical, diagnostic, and therapeutic services offered by the Ultrasound division of the Radiology department, to include Echos, TEE,  vascular ultrasound, OB, and general Ultrasound procedures. Must be able to assist radiologist in procedures with a working knowledge of sterile technique. Has a working knowledge of PACS/RIS.


 


Required Qualifications :

Job Requirements: Ultrasonographer - Echo Technician


• Studies: Complete, TEE, Bubble and Definity
• Perform Adult and Infant studies
• Require Certification: RDCS/ARDMS and will consider RCS through CCI
• Relocation Assistance: Possibility


 


 


Minimum Education
Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or a Registered Medical Sonographer or if newly registry-eligible with (ARRT) shall obtain registry within 90 days of hire

Must have attended a program in Ultrasound or have a level of expertise through on the job training that allows the performance of unsupervised quality studies.

 


Required Skills

Must be organized, have strong independent decision making skills and effective communication skills.

Emergency and work load situations require the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.


Must be able totake call and work varying shifts.



 



Required Certifications:
Current BLS from American Heart Association
