Surgery and Procedure Scheduler
We are seeking a skilled surgery and procedure scheduler to join our busy and fast-paced orthopedic and pain management office. It is essential that the Surgery and Procedure Scheduler be detailed-oriented and an analytical thinker with a Type A personality.
The ideal candidate will have a background in healthcare, with a primary focus on scheduling surgeries and procedures. This position requires utilization of clinical knowledge to schedule appropriate procedures/surgeries per provider's orders. The Surgery and Procedure Scheduler must schedule office-based and hospital procedures consistent with the patient's diagnosis and procedure request.
The candidate must possess knowledge in securing prior-authorizations, determining patient co-pay and insurance benefits. This position also requires excellent customer service skills with patients, employees, and the public. The Surgery and Procedure Scheduler must be able to respond to both written and oral correspondence regarding scheduling changes/cancellations in a timely, accurate manner.
The individual must be a highly-organized, critical thinker and be able to manage demanding workload quickly and with accuracy. This position must be flexible and accommodating to change in routine.
