Nuclear Medicine Technologist - Lead
Collaborates and participates with Department Director, Department Management Team, Radiologists, and Medical Staff in the department's decision making, structure and processes. Is responsible for directing the daily operation of the Nuclear Medicine Department, including staff scheduling, productivity, monitoring all operational aspects, safety, Quality Control, problem identification and resolution, hiring, and discipline. Works in conjunction with Radiation Safety Officer in matters of state licensing, for both the institution and the Radiologist group, and working with the department physicist in matters of equipment testing, etc.
Is responsible for the fiscal aspects of operation, including maintaining all budgeted parameters and responsible for all Quality Improvement monitors, reports and plans. Performs all job responsibilities with a high degree of independence. Acts as the Assistant to the Radiation Safety Officer for MC. This position provides service to patients throughout the life span including newborns, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric age groups.
Minimum Education: Graduate of an AMA approved Nuclear Medicine technology program.
Minimum Experience: Minimum of five (5) years experience preferred.
Licensure/Certification: Current certification by ARRT or NMTCB. Current certification by the State of New Mexico in Nuclear Medicine. If registry eligible must complete and pass within one year of hire date. CPR certification required.
